Its name means mouse lizard, a reference to the small size of the young specimens originally associated with its discovery. Despite that name, adult Mussaurus individuals were considerably larger than the tiny juveniles that first attracted scientific attention. As an early sauropodomorph, Mussaurus belonged to an important evolutionary group of dinosaurs related to the ancestors of the giant long-necked sauropods. Its body structure and locomotion have made it an interesting subject for palaeontologists studying how early sauropodomorphs moved and developed. The Mattel Hammond Collection Mussaurus celebrates this distinctive dinosaur through a detailed, articulated figure that highlights its prehistoric character. 🎬 Jurassic World Hammond Collection The Jurassic World Hammond Collection is Mattel's premium range of collectible dinosaur figures, named after John Hammond, the fictional creator of Jurassic Park. The collection pays tribute to the enduring legacy of the Jurassic Park franchise while offering dinosaur enthusiasts detailed figures designed for impressive displays. Hammond Collection dinosaurs are especially appealing to collectors who appreciate carefully sculpted prehistoric creatures, lifelike features and enhanced articulation. The Mussaurus expands the collection with an early sauropodomorph, providing an interesting contrast to the more familiar carnivorous predators and giant herbivores associated with Jurassic World. Its combination of 15 points of articulation, movable tail and interchangeable feet makes it a distinctive release within the range. Whether you're building a complete Hammond Collection or exploring the diversity of prehistoric animals, Mussaurus adds another fascinating species to your display. 🦴 Premium Dinosaur Sculpting & Lifelike Eyes One of the standout qualities of the Mattel Hammond Collection Mussaurus is its detailed dinosaur-inspired design. The figure celebrates the recognisable characteristics of an early sauropodomorph, bringing this prehistoric animal into a premium collectible format. Its lifelike eyes help create a more expressive appearance, adding character to the sculpt. The high-quality design makes Mussaurus particularly appealing to collectors who appreciate realistic-inspired prehistoric figures. Combined with the articulated construction and movable tail, these visual details allow for a range of natural-looking display arrangements. For Jurassic World enthusiasts, the figure offers an engaging combination of prehistoric character design and modern collectible features. 🤸 15 Points of Articulation The Jurassic World Hammond Collection Mussaurus features 15 points of articulation, allowing collectors to arrange the dinosaur in a variety of positions. These articulation points provide flexibility for creating different prehistoric scenes, from standing displays to more dynamic poses. The figure's articulated construction is particularly useful when exploring the distinctive body posture associated with Mussaurus. Collectors can adjust the dinosaur's pose to create a natural-looking presentation or incorporate it into a larger Jurassic World display. The combination of multiple articulation points and interchangeable feet provides additional options for displaying this prehistoric herbivore. Whether positioned independently or alongside other Hammond Collection dinosaurs, Mussaurus offers an engaging and versatile collectible experience. 🦶 Interchangeable Feet for Upright Poses One of the most distinctive features of the Mattel Jurassic World Hammond Collection Mussaurus is the inclusion of an additional set of feet. These interchangeable components are designed to help collectors position the dinosaur in natural-looking upright stances. The extra feet complement the figure's articulated construction, providing another way to explore different display arrangements. This feature is especially appealing because it highlights the distinctive posture and movement associated with Mussaurus. Collectors can use the additional feet to create a more upright presentation, giving the figure a different silhouette within a prehistoric display. The interchangeable feet make this release stand out among conventional dinosaur figures, adding an extra level of customisation to the Hammond Collection experience. 🦎 Movable Tail for Natural-Looking Displays The movable tail adds another important element to the Mussaurus figure's articulation. A dinosaur's tail forms an essential part of its body structure and plays a role in its overall balance and movement. Mattel's adjustable tail allows collectors to modify the figure's appearance and create different poses. Position the tail to complement an upright stance or adjust it when arranging the dinosaur in another natural-looking posture. The movable tail works alongside the figure's 15 points of articulation and interchangeable feet to provide a more expressive display experience. For collectors who enjoy regularly changing their dinosaur arrangements, this feature adds flexibility and visual variety. 🌿 A Dinosaur from the Late Triassic The Late Triassic period represents an important chapter in the history of dinosaurs. During this time, early dinosaur groups were developing and diversifying, laying the evolutionary foundations for many of the famous species that would appear during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Mussaurus belonged to the sauropodomorph lineage, a group associated with the evolutionary history of the giant long-necked sauropods. Its relatively early place in dinosaur history makes it particularly interesting for collectors who enjoy exploring prehistoric life beyond the most familiar species. Adding Mussaurus to a collection helps showcase the diversity of dinosaurs from different geological periods. The Hammond Collection figure provides an opportunity to celebrate this fascinating early herbivore through a detailed, poseable collectible. 🏞️ Recreate Prehistoric Jurassic World Displays The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises have inspired generations of dinosaur enthusiasts with their imaginative prehistoric environments and unforgettable creatures.
